Parks are Great this time of year, not the amusement parks yet they will be better in June, July or August when school is out if you are a parent or a student.

I am speaking about the public parks the weather is great now for out- of- door activities walking, running, board games as well as volleyball or other ballgames, reading, boating, listen to music (while laying on a blanket), or just talking about nothing of importance.

Taken the kids, pets and that special person in your life, on a day outing can do wonders for you and them. I am certain you are aware of this but sometimes we have to be reminded, that taken a break in daily routines are not a bad thing. To wake up in the morning or after breakfast and say ” let’s get out of here for awhile“,  may bring on a shock factor in others around you, even get asked “are you feeling O.K.”  Do not let this stop you from your Mission, you should have been more  Adventurous before now. But do not fear” better late than never”.

Now to make it more of a together moment, let’s tell them we will be taken something for the outing. This may take some doing but you have gotten this far so forge ahead. If you do not want to do any cooking, check to see what you have on hand and everyone can take what they like. This is not the time for complaining about everyone’s choice, if it’s junk food ,let the next day fix it. You do not want to start your trip with tension.

But if they do want to cook-out let everyone help pick out what to cook. This could get tricky. They are going to agree to help with this meal while you are at home. Watch out this could be a set up or they may very well help.  ;-)  Just be strong and be prepared.  If they do help out, it may not be the way you want it to be done,  it’s One Day it will not Kill You  ( I hope :-/ ).

Remember the sun screen, bug spray (or not), blankets, cooking supplies, and do not forget the game or the other items you may need, this does not have to take long it’s only for a short while.

Now get out there and Enjoy the Day. You do not have to do this again, but do try it out and let us know how it went we all Love Drama, as long as it’s not Our’s.

Feeling like you need to get outside and do things because the weather has been so very agreeable.  What do you enjoy camping, picnics, barn-fire on the beach, backyard with friends, parks cookouts, or tailgating?

They all are going to require food and this is the real purpose for all the move to get out of doors. The REAL REASON, sure you want the fresh air, company of friends but you know it’s all about what are you going to Eat and Drink.

Going camping is great if you have time, it’s not far from home, friends to go along, and a great place with a view would be Awesome. I feel the food is about the same as in the backyard in that it’s on a grill. The same type of food and drinks.

Backyard with friends our usual smoker or grill. The food maybe somewhat different than camping being home allows you a little more room for an adventurous menu than camping.

Parks or beaches that allow cooking is Great, being able to have a volley ball game or table game going, while looking at the water or the greenery of nature can help give you a great appetite.

Barn-fire on the beach now that’s a party in it’s self. If you get to go are have one this is the place to be. The food usually is more seafood, great friends to have sand games with. Views of the ocean when day turns into night, with songs and star gazing till morning, if you can be so Lucky.

Now having a picnic can be a private matter or many sharing a little more than any of the above.

But there is nothing like a private picnic with that Special Someone. In a private area, must have a basket for the occasion, nothing else will do. The food here has to top all the other outings or “what is the point”.

So if this weekend does not allow for one of the above, why not try one of them next weekend. Giving yourself something to look forward to. And let us know what works for you or didn’t we can learn from what not to do as well.

The sun was up Early today and So was I. ;-)   I don’t know what came over me but maybe The Weather, for I Love the Snow ( it is going to be 65 today clear, sunny and winds 8-10 mph) . All I know is that I was standing at the Farmer’s Market this morning bags in hand and ready for an ADVENTURE in FOOD LAND. I like talking to the people and the producers of the food, to get Great Ideas on how to prepare the foods in different but tasty ways, that will not take forever to prepare but will make the neighborhood GREEN with ENVY and my Family wanting More of the Good Stuff.

So I found the best way to get the results I desire, is to let other people do the work and I shine in the Glory of it All (don’t Hate there is room for all of you).  I am aware that to be a Great Cook outside or Inside, you must be a Fantastic Cook or have Knowledgeable People around you. I choose the People, not only because they get the blame when it’s “not good”, if you don’t know them how can they tell anyone you got this AWESOME information from them. You see WIN WIN here!!! ;-)

All jokes aside I enjoy the markets for the information, the food is very fresh and colorful, the cost is reasonable and meeting people is a joy in the morning (as long as I have had my morning cup of java).

I have learned some awesome ways to grill vegetables, using colorful flowers from the vegetables to bring life to the plates, tips on how to place these delicate items on the grill and for how long to savoir the flavor and color. The fresh herds and spices here takes your “Breath Away”, pasting their tables the smell lingers in the air.

Then to the meat & fish market to give the vegetables a pairing like a FIND WINE.

Information at both places again, and even if you know the answer sometimes the fact that they feel you value their information Speaks Volumes.

I even got Great starting ways to get the grills going faster without the wait as well as clean up and oiling the grills with “coffee filters”, yes they do not leave any fuss balls behind like paper towels and less oil waste when oiling the grill to prevent sticking.

Well, I am on my way outside, used an old coffee can to start my fire in the center (ashes are red hot), soaked my apple wood chips also from the market, meat has marinated and ready for the fire. The vegetables are prepared and the jams and jellies are ready for the ice cream I learned was best for less sugar in the mix. Pound cake will be grilled to PERFECTION.  So without further a do, LET’S GET GRILLING!!!

Would like to extend to each of YOU an Enjoyable, Safe and how every you and yours celebrate these few days leading up to Easter Sunday do so in Joy and Love,

I think other than Christmas of Our celebrations (in the USA) this is usually next in line.

The weather is usually warmer and more favorable to be out and about. The stores are busy and crowded with people purchasing food, clothes, and other items geared towards the Easter Sunday event. Hearing from my parents and grandparents, this day was always the return of spring. People would look forward to it for crops in the fields, gardens ( vegetables or flowers), changing of winter cover-ups shedding to light color and weight clothing. The meals would be less hearty, but the cooking would be moved out of doors to all sorts of cooking fires. The families would look forward to weekend outings and even Nature came to Life.

The colors of the Cherry Trees in bloom, Dogwoods and the trees that were looking dead a week ago, seem to find their green coats and become the back-drop for those flowering trees. The grass takes on it’s own dance of color, with the budding of new bulbs in bloom and flowers of all types pushing their way though the ground, to show an AWESOME array of colors. The grasses blooms are short lived, but they have colors of light sky blue, deep sunny yellows, lavenders and snowy white. Tiny yet if you take in the view of a ground cover or grass in bloom, it’s Amazing and Captivating as well.

Lastly the Religious Parades and the Easter Parades, where everyone put on their Best and the Hats were the True Attraction of the Show.

Here’s hoping that there was something here for all of you and as usual let me know about your memories of EASTER and the New Life it brings to You.  ;-)

With the cost of luggage on planes, trains and even cars (gas mileage), you may ask yourself  why bother, we should just stay home!

But some of that new technology we are carrying around may just be useful.

The iPhone has apps that are free( for some), that just maybe able to get the job done.

Food, makeup, tools of all sorts can be purchased in package form for trips, less storage room. In the car kids and even adults can benefit from using packets that squeeze and toss. Less chance of breakage or leaking onto other items.

On planes the less you have to pack the better for you and your wallet, in some cases you don’t even have to purchase that special dress for the evening affair. On the plane no more magazines to lose ( that $5.00 and up magazine) can cause you quite a headache when you lose or misplace it.

Taking an infant, young or preteen, can be another pain in the old wallet. Clothes, toys, diapers, etc. can all add up.

So let’s see what all that technology can do for us.

Ladies you can order that evening wear on-line for delivery to your hotel. Also the items you need to set it off. A bag is included for return you can do it or have the hotel do it for you. RENTTHERUNWAY.COM

Download magazines for traveling of all types (sports and business, etc. included) for the man in you life and the kids.~~ Livestand~~ an app ( I’m told it’s free) for IPad‘s , 200 titles and still adding. Nook users and others should have some as well maybe for a fee? But not paper less to lose.

Babies and younger children checkout ~~BabiesTravelLite.com~~ these items are for purchase but again can be shipped to your destination and be there on your arrival then shipped home.

It Happen Here also an app. about $2.99 for IPhone and Androids users.  Historical Events, Movie Scenes, famous crimes etc. information on about 40 cities. The information of the cities you are visiting in you hand.

You are paying for this stuff, you may as well put it to GOOD USE. Let’s see if I can find more. HAPPY TRAVELING!!  ;-)

Now in all fairness to “Women History Month”, you GUY’S better watch-out. I am WARNING you NOW!!! The women are out on the Grills in-force, we let you have the T.V. remote (Yea), gave you the grill. But have heard that the WOMEN are taking over that too, I am only the Mes-sager, so Guys step up your Game it’s ON. ;)

I am aware the weather is not Great now for all of us, but around here CT, we have had some Awesome weather along the shoreline. So this weekend I smell the burning of the grills and the scraping of last years old food being removed. Yes, you should have removed that last year but I won’t tell who you are (the pictures are in the mail, make checks out, to information enclosed).

I don’t know what you use to grill on gas, electric, etc. or with wood, charcoal etc. My favorite is the brick-lined chimney or smoker grills, with wood, apple, maple, hickory, AWE just the thought. But I know the health risk but everything is going to kill us SOooo!!!

My thought on the matter is, I do not want to be outside cooking like I am on my stove, I need to feel if I don’t do the fire right I DON’T EAT, that can not HAPPEN!!! So I have to prepare to do some work, put on spices and herbs, make the neighbors wish I would invite them over or because of the smoke MOVE.

So here is where I let other’s do there thing and help us out or Not. If you are GREAT at this let us know, hit the comment button and have at it, I will be more than happy to Share. Your comments do matter to me. LET’S GRILL!!!

O.K. the weather is changing sunny and warm, cold and cloudy, rain, sleet and snow. I looked at the weather report in just one week, all of the above HAPPENED. No not surprised I know it’s March and days like these are Normal. Yea, Right!!!

It’s bad enough I changed my outer wear of clothing to keep up with the season, could not go to work with my wool ankle length coat on my arm, people would look at me strangely, ( were you not aware we dress for other people). You say I leave in New York, Paris, San Francisco or any town large and where you are allowed to be You. Oh Yes, you just try it!!!  Back to the weather, I am not complaining, if left to me it would snow every where I go. ;-D   I love the winter (no wind, goes right through me), but the joy of walking through the clean snow, feeling the chill of the rain in winter on your face, the nakedness of the earth. Just something about WINTER. Snuggling up a warm cup of coffee in my hands, (sorry I don’t do coco), hot tea (any flavor) or stews, ok I got carried away.

So here we are in the changing of the seasons again and so many things are happening around us. House needs cleaning (for those of you that do it), house need repairs( and you know who you are), lawn care, etc.

But we also change the food we eat, the clothes we wear, the places we go, we all have those little “Creature of Habit Things We Do”. Not bad, but “Weather Related”.   DON’T FORGET THOSE CLOCKS ….

No I am not going to say down with them, throw them on the pile and burn them. I do not want to take that world of fire on, Disappear in the middle of the night because my friends and family turned me into the Gadget Police ( I do not think there is one but give them a minute there will be). :-)  Anyway I just wanted say where Google and a few other’s went to what they call a Gadgets Geek’s Dream Scenario. Anyway that got me thinking, it’s not the THINGS we want but the IDEA that they will make our life somewhat better.

So let’s look at how we view our gadgets, Morning; alarm clock (so many , i Pods, cell phones, computers) to wake us up, then we get the weather and latest news report before our feet even touch the floor.  Coffee or tea pot brewing or brewed (while still in bed), toaster, prepackage food for a quick exit or a text to our favorite place frequented and it’s brown bagged for us on arrival (prepaid on our cell phone to our bank). Hi this just got scary, still at home and your world as you know it is working for you at your fingertips. WOW

Oh, let’s not forget that car, you are in the house your favorite beverage in hand, there’s that finger thing again, at a Touch, the car starts, the seats are warming up and you are watching the garage door open. You are off to your world, then you do it again that same car backs itself into the parking space or you have a camera view of the rear to park.AMAZING.

At work untold gadgets ( you did not have to spend a dime, Yea) “Other Peoples Money.”  Even if you work in a factory, the machines are self maintained or little supervised, you are there mainly for the hands on required work. The further up the ladder the machines end up sending  you reports, virtual wall views of untold information. We can connect to each other from the moon.

So think about it, what really makes us Tick, join us at the Hip, make us think over the EDGE, outside the BOX. Check out what Google and the other so called Geeks were looking at because we are all Geeks we just look at ourselves and our World differently. But that’s what makes All of Us UNIQUE.

As we travel around on our day to day journey, we also seem to have a way of changing what we eat & drink. And what do we tell ourselves, we are on vacation, it’s Saturday, I diet all week and the list goes on and on. Well let’s not beat ourselves up over it let’s see what those little Pleasurably moments do for us.

Each morning, not the got to do this for health reasons, (and you know who you are and why you must follow those guide lines) but the one’s of us that grasp that cup of coffee, be it from home or your favorite coffee place, yes I am guilty, I have no shame here, this is not about me it’s about us. ;-) ( see how I fix that one). The bagel, doughnut, the stack high pancakes, waffles, big breakfast, what ever your Pleasure may be, it’s what you feel you owe yourself for some reason or another.

When we go on vacation, now that’s another story but one that can be visited. We more than indulge but did you ever notice your taste seem to change. The city, state or country can cause us to change our ways.

The regions of some states or countries can also influence what we eat, I think sometimes we even surprise ourselves but that will be our little secret as well. ;-)

Let’s see what I can find to Awaken our taste buds today and next time we will travel a little farther with this.
